RaiseRight is just another word for “gift cards”. Yes, that’s right, the same gift cards you’d drive to the store and stand in line to buy, but when the school purchases them, we buy them at a discount. You pay the same amount for your gift card you would at the store, but the school keeps the discount amount.

St. Mary's Catholic School has gift cards to meet all your shopping needs. The gift cards are sold in the school office during office hours.  The gift cards are exactly like the gift cards you purchase at area businesses (with the buyer paying exactly the face amount for the gift card), except they offer a bonus: participating businesses donate a percentage back to St. Mary's Catholic School.  That percentage back is split between the school and your next year's tuition.

Example:  Krist gas stations offers 10% rebate.  If you purchased a $100 gas card, $10 would be the rebate. $5 goes to the school and $5 goes toward your tuition.

St. Mary's School carries in stock gift cards from many local and out-of-town businesses, for stores such as Walmart, Meijer, Walgreens, Target, Outback Steakhouse, Olive Garden and Red Lobster. The school’s Scrip office can order gift cards if they are not in stock, many vacation destination cards are available such as Carnival Cruises, Disney and many hotels.  The school can also order restaurant gift cards for restaurants such as: Red Robin, Panera Bread, Cracker Barrel, etc. There are hundreds of gift cards available from national vendors.

St. Mary's also carries gift cards and certificates from local businesses such as Penny's Kitchen, Cup of the Day, Pat's Foods, Daymakers Salon, Bird's Eye Outfitters and Krist Oil Company.

Gas station gift cards are also available for purchase from gas stations such as Sunoco, Holiday, Shell and Marathon.  And online vendors like Amazon and Wayfair.

How RaiseRight generates revenue for us: RaiseRight Pro Merchants center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other non-profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the RaiseRight is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. St. Mary’s School buys the RaiseRightfrom RaiseRight Pro Merchants at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to parents and parishioners for full face value.

RaiseRight is “shopping cart fundraising”. The reason for the effectiveness of RaiseRight is simple: families generate revenue through purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with RaiseRight. An organization of 150 families easily spends between one and two million dollars per year on food, clothing and other essentials. If these families use RaiseRight for these purchases, they can raise as much as $40,000 to $80,000 per year for their organization –without spending an additional penny.

Retailers like RaiseRight, too. Families who purchase RaiseRightcertificates actively support the retailers who participate in this program. The reason is simple, they know that buying from a RaiseRight participating retailer provides a steady source of revenue for their church, school, or non-profit organization.
