Volunteer Info

Each St. Mary’s Catholic School family is required to complete a minimum of 30 volunteer service hours per year.  HASA helps families attain those hours in several ways.  Attending HASA meetings earns hours.  New for this year, you can earn double the time for your first HASA meeting (whenever you attend for the first time)!!!  HASA also creates and runs events to assist in enhancing school life and community while providing volunteer opportunities.  The role of  Volunteer Chairperson Hissaan Haqqani is to help families sign up for events, and keep track of what each family has signed up to do in the beginning of the year and remind them of their obligation when the time arises.  Please note that some of the committees will not take much time to complete. You may need to sign up for more than one committee/ event to get all the required hours.  Many of our events are fun to help with, so feel free to sign up for as many as you would like to be a part of.

The Volunteer Chairperson also keeps track of the hours each family has completed using the following form.

It is the responsibility of each family to ensure that you complete your required thirty (30) hours.

Please be aware that our Volunteer Chairperson is merely there to help keep us all on track and help events run smoothly.

Volunteer Expectations

St. Mary’s School is blessed to have many parents willing and able to volunteer at our school. There are multiple opportunities to volunteer which enable our parents to get to know one another and grow together as a community.

So that you can have a clear understanding of what is expected, please observe the following guidelines.  Thank you, again, for your generosity in sharing your time and talent.

It is required that all volunteers working with our students must complete the VIRTUS Training class.  If you need information on this class, please go to http://www.dioceseofmarquette.org or contact the school office.

Volunteers must respect the confidentiality of the relationship to the school, being careful to ensure that a student’s work and behavior in school, be held in confidence.  Volunteers must maintain the confidentiality of the school respecting the rights of the staff and students. Volunteers must also conduct themselves in accordance with the St. Mary’s School standards, as stated in the school handbook.
