Monday Letter

Hello St. Mary's Catholic School parents,

I pray you are doing well.  Last week was a busy and productive week, academics are ramping up from review of lessons previously learned to presentation of new subjects.  The students are easing into a regular routine with teachers and classes.

This week's important points:

There will be our first School Council of the year this Thursday in the Library.  The commencement time must be changed this time to 7pm due to a scheduling issue with some members.  All parents are welcome to attend, but please RSVP in advance so we can determine how many seats we will need.  As a reminder, we need volunteers for the sub-committees of the council, and volunteering is a great way to fulfill your volunteer hours.

Mass will be on Thursday, 9/22 at 2pm, please inform your teacher if you are planning to attend and pick up your student(s) after mass.

Picture day is approaching next week on 9/28.  We have a new school photo provider, Lakeshore Photography. The photographers will begin at 8:30 am and will do one grade at a time.

Asbestos abatement has concluded successfully and the gym has finally opened for lunch and gym.  We appreciate Great Lakes Environmental and their crew for working hard to finish clearing out all the hazardous materials.  On the final day of work some of the men worked a 22 hour shift and in total removed around 10 tons of waste.

Have a blessed week!
In Christ,
Tim
